History of longleaf

When the Alabama Entertainment Incentives Act of 2009 was passed into law, Representative Richard Lindsey, the bill's sponsor, teamed with State Senator Del Marsh and Jacksonville State University's Pete Conroy to devise a plan to allow for the Northeast Alabama region to actively participate with film and entertainment opportunities.

 

The establishment of the NEAEI was approved by JSU President William A. Meehan in September of 2009. .  Longleaf Studio’s was created under the NEAEI as a film incubator for the state of Alabama. With the help of the state and local government, it is Longleaf Studio’s goal to bring the film industry to Alabama and spread throughout the state.
